Our Story
We met in 2022 as physics majors at Virginia Tech. We bonded over our similar upbringings, from taking piano lessons with Russian teachers to unknowingly attending the same NASA academies. We became close friends through planning and attending events for the Virginia Tech physics club, and fell in love over our early morning donut runs.
We moved to California in 2023/2024 to pursue our Ph.D.s in physics; Tim is researching Jupiter's moon Io, and Sasha is researching dark matter. Outside of work, we have been enjoying the warm weather, playing with our two cats (Gizmo and Prada), and exploring the West Coast. We have especially loved the California mountains, and have chosen a gorgeous winery in the Peninsular Range near San Diego to have our wedding.
We are planning our biggest event yet, and we would love to see you there!

The Venue
Milagro Winery
A winery in the hills about an hour outside of San Diego. Both the ceremony and reception take place in one location.
A gentle note: the ground is gravel and grass — stiletto heels are not advised.

Travel & Lodging
Getting here, and staying near
Many of you are coming from the East Coast — thank you! Fly into San Diego International Airport (SAN); the best fares tend to leave from large hubs like ATL, DCA, or IAD. We recommend renting a car and carpooling with other guests. The venue is about an hour's drive from San Diego.
We're also looking into getting a block of hotel rooms for the wedding to make transportation to and from the venue easier. We will let you know soon if there are any updates to the suggested hotels.
We also recommend AirBnBs and Vrbos in Ramona or Julian, CA.
